The Nalanda Junior Old Boys' Association (NJOBA) was formed in 1975, 50 years after the school was established. It was formed with the Objective of harvesting the youthful energy of young Alumni for the development of the school. The first president of the Association was Mr. Susantha Abeysekara and the starting membership consisted of 25 members. Since then the NJOBA has seen the tenures of 23 presidents and a flourishing 40 years in the Service of Nalanda College.

The President for the term of year 2015 is Mr. Nilanga Gajaba and the General Secretary is Mr. Dharmasiri Mohottige

Future Minds 2016 kicks off at Galle!

The final phase of Future Minds 2016 kicked off at the Galle Town Hall here today at the heart of the Galle City. The event will be held from the 3rd to 4th September with close to 50 higher education institutes participating.

The opening ceremony was declared opened by the Chief Guest Hon. Gayantha Karunatileka, Cabinet Minister of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media. The Honourable Minister addressing the gathering said that Sri Lanka is entering a new era of development and a highly skilled and professional workforce is must and that Future Minds as a higher education exhibition facilitates this process effectively.

Future Minds features an education sponsor panel consisting of 8 top private higher education providers. The expo is also sponsored by a bevy of commercial sponsors.

The exhibition has a strong focus on higher education and encourages school leavers to build solid careers with a strong foundation of a higher education. The expo is family oriented and invites parents to accompany students and make a productive visit to Future Minds.

Distinguished Old Nalandian and veteran Air Force Officer and Gentleman, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathi was appointed the new Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force today. With 35 years of experience, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathi brings a wealth of expertise and leadership to the Sri Lankan Air Force as its Commander.
It is a day of glory to Nalanda College and the College Flag proudly soars high in the air.
The membership of the Nalanda Junior Old Boys' Association heartily congratulates Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathi on this highly placed appointment and sends best wishes for a highly successful and highflying tenure as the Commander of the Sri Lankan Air Force.

The unveiling of photo of the past president's.. at the NJOBA office, Of Mr Pradeep Subasinghe taken place on 30th August 2016. Present President Mr. Nilanga Gajaba has warmly welcomed the past president and praised the work done by him. Past office bearers of the past president as well as the present Office bears have graced the occasion. Mr Sanjaya Fernando and Mr. Keerthi Siriwardena has done speeches and reiterated the service done by Mr Pradeep Subasinghe.
